Speaker Spotlight: Stacey Sinwald
Stacey Sinwald Stay Wellness, Therapy, and Consulting, LLC
“I’ve been training dogs for almost 10 years, combining my background in
psychology with a passion for behavior and communication. As a Ph.D., Licensed
Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), and AKC Evaluator, I bring a
multidisciplinary approach to dog training that emphasizes both human and canine
well-being. I own Stay Wellness, a therapy and consulting practice, and also serve
as a psychology professor. This allows me to integrate clinical insight with
practical, compassionate training strategies. Stay Dog Training specializes in
puppy development training and therapy dog training. It’s an honor to be part of
this community, and I’m excited to share what I’ve learned through both science
and experience.”
What if we approached dog training the same way we approach meaningful behavior change in humans?
At this year's Professional K9 Trainers Development Conference, Stacey Sinwald will present Canine CBT, a session exploring the intersection of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and modern dog training.
Drawing from her background as a therapist, psychology professor, and dog trainer, Stacey will discuss how emotion, autonomy, learning history, and cognitive processes influence canine behavior—and how these concepts can be applied to create more effective behavior modification strategies.
Whether you're interested in behavior, learning theory, confidence-building, or relationship-based training, this is a session you won't want to miss.
